Cycle Time Reduction
Our experience is that today quality is not a
competitive advantage. Rather, the absence of quality is a competitive
disadvantage… Once you’re in the game, you compete on flexibility,
adaptability and speed.

The process of Cycle Time Reduction (CTR) takes a unique approach to
continuous improvement of systems/processes. This process was designed to
enhance programs such as TQM, CQI, Six-Sigma, etc. The focus of Cycle Time
Reduction is speed. It’s that simple. Building upon existing efforts, quality
remains the number one issue. Speed will simply add greater value to the quality
initiative.
Cycle Time Reduction is a disciplined diagnostic approach to process improvement. The important difference is that CTR examines the process by separating what the people in the process are doing from what is happening to the product. Most often we discover that, while the people are very busy, the product/service is sitting and no value-added work is being performed on it. This is particularly evident in business processes.
